Lateral Violence, Othering and Belonging Program

Lateral Violence, Othering and Belonging Program

Tonight AHH hosted a Lateral Violence, Othering and Belonging program. Kheya Ganguly, the Director of Trauma Prevention and Resilience Development for the State of Vermont was the presenter and she did an amazing job. With all the lateral violence that I have experienced in my many roles in the VT Abenaki community, it was comforting to have someone talk about it so openly and share ways of addressing it. All the folks who attended also seemed to find the information and strategies helpful.

Also, I want to let everyone know that the Vermont Department of Health recently included AHH’s work on lateral violence in their Health Equity newsletter.

It also appeared in the Vermont Department of Mental Health’s newsletter during Abenaki Recognition and Heritage Week.
